Committed to her Country and to her Children

Air Force MSgt Denise LeBarb Malloy is a 39-year-old single mom. No one knows the struggles of being committed to her country and her children better than Malloy. She has been in the Air Force for 21 ½ years and is on her third deployment. She served one tour in Afghanistan and two in Iraq. She is currently working in personnel in Baghdad.
“My heart is definitely in two places. If I look forward I keep walking in the sand. If I look back, I see that I need to return and raise my children.”
Denise, thank you for your service!

I recently finished the book, "Band of Sisters" and want to extend my congratulations to a job well done to Kirsten Holmstedt. Beautifully written and I believe it should be included as required reading in the American History Classes of all high schools.
I personally know an Air Force Major who was the Recovery Officer for the Beirut Bombings in 1983 when 241 Soldiers, Sailors and Marines were killed by a terrorist in their sleep. She has suffered through Long Term PTSD for 24 years now and I can relate to the families who must take care of the new Iraqi Veterans returning home. My dearest friend has published a book, "Locked In Time I Still Remember and Always Will" through Outskirts publishing and it deals with her life and how she honorably put back together these men and sent them home to their loved ones. I believe that Long Term PTSD will be the plague of the returning Iraqi War Veterans and should be dealt with immediately and not allowed to linger and eat way inside their minds just as it has done through my beautiful friend, USAF MAJ Bonnie Tierney. I believe that women handle mental disorders in a different way. Thank you for this book and allowing the United States to know that women are fighting and have been for years. I applaud you for this book and God bless our returning men and WOMEN in this war.
